About

BearDrummer is a multifaceted person.  Yes, he plays hand drums, and when he turns sideways and slouches a bit, he really does look like a bear.

He is a husband, a father, a petter of cats and a feeder of fish.  He loves his family, and plans on making many comments and posts involving them.

Bear is a deeply spiritual person.  He has and does search for meaning everywhere.  Trough his search, he has developed a personal understanding of how ones beliefs are formed, and the effect that they have on peoples lives.  He has a great deal of knowledge through experience with Fundamentalist Christianity, as well as a working understanding of Shamanism and Paganism.  He studies other paths as the opportunity allows.  He currently considers himself a Unitarian Universalist.

Bear has a high interest in politics.  He started out with an extremely conservative political view.  As he stepped away from the “accept on faith, and ignore the facts” mentality of the fundamentalist movement, and as he studied simple physics and basic history, his political views became more aligned with what would be considered liberal, at least in the USA.  He is of the opinion that neither of the dominant political parties actually seem to understand “cause and effect”.

Bear has a personal interest in mental health issues.  As a survivor of abuse “in the name of God” while growing up, and other life events, he has a personal understanding of those who suffer from anxiety, depression and PTSD, and he plans to champion causes to help those who suffer.

Welcome to the Bear Cave.  Watch your shins, as the benches around the bonfire have a sneaky habit of smacking them…

  1. Bear, as you have commented over there at TheZoo, I decided to have a look into your place. I like it very much it feels very calm and soothing. I hope we’ll see more of you at the Zoo eventually and I might just lurk here now and again because It feels good.

Have a good day! ( or rather night. I’m sitting in Europe, so I have already started the day)
